Our president made what was supposedly a joke on April 1. Now, if you haven't watched Netflix' series "House of Cards" then you might have missed the punch line. For those who haven't seen the series, Frank Underwood begins as the whip in the House of Representatives. He is a ruthless and conniving politician. I won't say more here, but Frank will stop at nothing to achieve his personal goals. His spouse is as driven and ruthless as Frank is.
On watching President Obama, I have wondered if he is more like Frank Underwood than he pretends to be? On watching the shenanigans in the American political scene in recent years I have decided to present from time to time my perspective. Of course, U.S. politics isn't a television show, it is not supposed to be entertainment, these politicians are making long term decision with some potentially horrible outcomes. Many of them state publicly and repeatedly that they are here to protect the middle class. Really?
We don't live in a vacuum. What Obama, Hillary and the rest do will crimp future lifestyles for the rest of us.
